The responsibilities are is then passed on to the HR manager, which results in a stressful working environment. Dessler states, 'a decade of globalization, deregulation, and technical advances has vastly increased the degree of competitiveness most organizations face today' (2000, p. 2).

These trends are forcing organizations to regroup, downsize and squeeze more productivity out of its workforce. PC Innovations HR department is trying to take advantage of the advancements of electronic technology. We are using the company's point of sale system to post information such as policies and procedures, guidelines as well as many different kinds of messages. This is helping with communication barriers between employee and employer. In conclusion, the human resource department at PC Innovation is feeling the pressures of today's competitive work environment.

HR is going to continue to stay focused and give added value to our organization. It is not going to be an easy task, but like other professions, PC Innovations human resource is going to have to adapt to the changes or move out of the way and let a new breed of HR specialists take over.
