The advertising increases consumer demand for the product. With any luck the advertising will entice consumers to buy the product, which would then cause retailers to sell a larger quantity. The increase in retailers' demand for pecans shows that the supply curve is inelastic.

If the demand goes up, then there will be a good increase in price and the demand will be unaffected by it.
