Others like Andrew Rockefeller who owned the oil company would do 40,000 a year. A normal growing middle class, who were doctors, lawyers, would get about $400 to $500 dollars a year. The make-up of the work force in the 19th century was very sad the industry abused these immigrants who in need of money and a better life worked 12 or more hours non stop the faster you worked the better chances you had t keep your job. In the work force you did not only see male and female immigrants but children that stopped going to school at the age of 11 and 12 years old was to help their parents to work these kids would also work many hours a day with no break.
The middle class did exist but only for people that had graduated would fall in that category. The immigrants you can say that 89.9 percent were very poor hard workers. B.) The leadership of these companies were very wide and demanding. Employees would get tired of getting hurt at work no sense of protection no sense of justice so if you dared to say you had hurt yourself you would be kicked out with no mercy. C.) Blacks were known to be dirty and poor and ignorant who can only serve as servants in the late 19th "The Dream for Equal Rights", was diminished. Poverty grew more and more through time and murders was done every day many African American where denied a trial, they were accused and lynched with out mercy.

They dreamed that one day they will be free and that equality would be presented and that the segregation would stop. 1) One of the African American leader was Booker T. Washington, His way of protest was to introduce "vocational education" he was known to be an "accommodationist". He went for a "moral and economic development".
For Booker, his way of getting the white Americans attention and support for African American right was that if blacks wanted to be accepted and respected they had to show that they were able to succeed and also be very well educated and knowledgeable and more economically stable. So he emphasized that African Americans had to finish a career and not be ashamed of who they were. 2) Web Du Bois, did not share Booker opinion, he did not believe that African American had to be educated and economically strong to be excepted in the society his way of fighting segregation was to stand up and win back the freedom that was taken away from them, protest as much as possible and fight until winning the battle even if this had to be taken to the supreme court. 3) The status of other minorities at the end of the nineteenth century was very much the same as the African American, for the " Anglo Saxons" Hispanics and Asians were inferior but by the end of 19th century Got their "respect" women have their rights but still in today's world opportunity is still a problem.
Section VI - The Populist Challenge A.) During this decade the farming was becoming a business American's in the east and American's in the west in the 19th century things started changing do to political power the "Democrats and Republicans" were more worried about power and other un important issue that the farmers suffered and most of the time they had no money to purchase their tools or pledge their crops. 1.) The farmers were not being heard by the stronger and more powerful people so they decided to form a party and fight for the rights. The farmers knew each other and therefore they picked a leader of there own back round to fight their rights they build Farm Cooperatives, they also came up with a Economic Reform. B.) The Populist movement was very challenging but turned out to be very successful it was the peoples first "Democratic Movement" they demanded the income tax for those wealthy people it was started in 1892 and they fought so voters can directly vote for their own leader. C.) The Election of 1896 William Bryant stood out in this millennium This decade two major parties were "adopted Republicans and Democratic". Populist movement was not sustained for long after 1896, "lost of morality power and influence was lost". Section VII- War and Empire A.) Two major terms that describe the U.S. senate is "Burden and Blessings " The United States had support from nations especially over seas we had great industrial nation who than became a Natural Projection over seas. America was very sympathetic with Cubans movement.
