Tradeshow / Conference Report Conference: 54th Insurance Brokers Association of B.C. Conference Location: Whistler, B.C. Dates: June 12th to 15th, 2002 PBC Attendees: Introduction The 54th Conference and Tradeshow hosted 66 sponsor booths, approximately 570 delegates, and their guests. Our participation in this conference was to provide both an Individual as well as a Group presence. As with our CUI SA Conference, our visibility and support at this conference was important, as we had not attended this conference in a number of years. As it had been more than 4 years since PBC attended this conference, we have received mention for having not sponsored or participated in this conference. Conference Objectives Supporting our broker community and re-establishing ABC presence with them With over 300 delegates in the broker community, both IP and Group were there to answer questions and field feedback. Introduce changes with plan design and rates over the past year in Individual Products In line with changes brought on from the government legislation to our health plan, we were able to answer queries and introduce our new rates and discuss strategies to address our membership and their clients.

Tradeshow The tradeshow was open two full days, which officially opened and closed the conference. The tradeshow was an opportunity for many of the insurance brokers to acquaint themselves with Jane Doe, who is our broker representative and John Doe with the brokers who sold group products. Conclusion Although with over 300 delegates of insurance brokers, many were not accessible at the tradeshow and did not participate fully with the formal agenda. Though we did accomplish parts of our objectives, the conference was not as productive or prospective as we had anticipated given our time put to it. Therefore, would recommend that our future participation with the IABC Conference be reviewed. Prepared by: Date.
