Social Issues Essay - Animal Testing, Abortion, Racism, Aids, Gas This world definitely has problems. What country wouldn't? Issues keep popping up everywhere we go. A lot of people have a hard time determining what is important and what isn't. What should be solved, and why are there differing views on different issues? The only way that we can solve these problems is to work together.

We must come up with ways to solve our problems and make everyone happy, but how? Animal Testing Companies or people should not have the right to test their products on animals, because it can be harmful to them and to the land if taken out of hand. Animals are part of God's creation, and just as environmentalists are worried about the way we take care of our environment, so should be the concerns of animals in our world. Most animal testing kills, and with these killings we are ruining the lives of many animals. This is a controversial issue because companies that are using these animals for testing are making sure that their products are suitable for sale. Without these, companies would not be able to be sure that their products are safe and usable for humans.

On the other hand, animals may eventually become extinct and this would cause an even larger problem for the rest of the world. For example, some animals make the environment the way it is now, and without the animals, it will eventually ruin our world. People could not agree on this issue because it will affect the business but also the animals and people cannot come to an agreement. Abortion The act of intentionally killing a fetus from the woman's womb in order to not bear child or the criminal act of deliberate miscarriage, defines abortion. This issue has been under controversy for many years. Many people believe that the act of abortion is actually killing the child inside the womb.

The others believe that the fetus is actually not a human at that stage of development, so really, you aren't killing anything. People cannot agree on a positive solution because without these abortions, some women feel that their lives could be destroyed, maybe because of their reputation, or losing someone that they love. The abortion doctors can possibly lose their jobs if abortions become outlawed. The issue of abortion is an extremely hard issue to deal with.

With all of the people believing that these babies aren't actual humans, it seems to show that there is no problem in going through with such a procedure. On the other hand, the people who do believe that these babies are humans and alive, wish to prove that these other people are wrong in what they are doing and believing. Together we cannot come up with an agreement to stop the ongoing abortions that kill babies each day. Racism Some people believe that their race is better than others. With this idea in mind, they show qualities of a person with superiority. This is a controversial issue because of the different views on the subject of racism.

Because of this hatred or displeasure of another race is shown throughout the world, many are affected. We shouldn't be looking at the outside of a person, but the inside. It doesn't matter about the color of our skin, we all are humans! Discriminating someone for how they were brought up, and who they are is not something we should be worried about.

God created us all in his likeness, so that we may learn to become like Him, no matter what we look like on the outside. Some people are just so set into their beliefs of hating someone that is not like them, that it's so hard to change. People aren't able to agree because they are unwilling to change how they feel. People just don't have the heart to look on the inside instead of dwelling on what they know about another person's past or color of their skin. Aids Many people are affected by this disease. Some people with aids think that they aren't a risk to people that they are having sex with, or even something as simple as open wounds on them and someone else.

Aids is a deathly virus, and without more people knowing more about the issue, it can become more of a huge problem than it already is. Many people are having sexual relations when with the disease, and it spreads. It is an ongoing chain, from the parents to the children. Although many people are not being more careful, a lot of people don't know that they have it. In third and fourth world countries, medical supplies and doctors aren't there to teach and to tell what they should know. We must work harder to reach out to these people, and also be much more careful ourselves.

This is a controversial issue because people aren't concerned about the spread of aids, and are doing nothing to help it, when the other people are worried about this issue and wish to have it stopped. Gas Prices Albertans are worried about their gas prices. The prices are much to high for what they should be. Albertans are the main source of suppliers of gas and oil. Albertans believe that their prices should be one of the lowest, and yet they are by far one of the highest, and can get really much higher.

Gas and oil is definitely needed and without Alberta, we wouldn't have as much as we would need as a country. Some people believe that Alberta should still pay still a reasonable amount, because it is not them personally who provided it, it's the lands resources. Just because we have a huge amount of gas and oil, we shouldn't be the ones who should pay less. Oil and gas are needed a lot in this day and age, because without it, we wouldn't have the steady transportation that we have. We as a country can't seem to agree on where we should be with prices, and for some it doesn't seem fair, but if it does change, the other half would be just as displeased.

Abortion, animal testing, racism, aids, and gas prices are all issues that are in our world. Not only do we have to create a positive answer to these problems, we have to keep everyone happy. Without this controversy I assume that it would be much easier, but without it, we wouldn't have the proper answers. We must work together to find out the answers.
