Alliance With Hampshire County Cricket Club example essay topic

Due to the number of fundraising sources previously mentioned in this project it will only be possible to discuss a few potential fundraising sources. In order to obtain any substantial backing from companies and charitable organisations, I feel that it would be within the best interests of the scheme to have the backing of Hampshire County Cricket Club. I have my own personal interests in the club and have been in contact with Jon Ailing a former county player and recently qualified ECB coach, who has expressed an interest in the scheme as well as pledging some of his time on a voluntary basis to coach the children taking part in the scheme. Also, to give the children someone to try and aspire to I have contacted Shane Warne who has again expressed an interest in the scheme and is more than happy to come down to the sessions as long as they do not interfere with his other commitments.

Shane returns from Australia in a few weeks. It is vitally important to form an allegiance with the Local Government. This alliance will aid the scheme in a number of ways. Firstly, the Government will provide staff for the coaching of the children.

These members of staff my even work on a voluntary basis or the council pays their wages. It will be necessary to show potential fundraising sources willing in terms of raising money from within the scheme itself. The proposed fundraiser is a kwik cricket tournament. This tournament will be run in the summer of 2003. Teams will consist of 6 members made up of the children and relatives; each team will be charged an entrance fee of lb 5. The competition will start on a round robin phase then progress onto a knockout stage.

There will be other fundraisers throughout the day such as raffles and best bowling competition e. t. c. The event will be held on the school playing field for a number of reasons, primarily due to safety, to keep spectators away from the game, with the weather potentially better it should prove to be a good day for the whole family and thirdly this type of day would prove to be a perfect opportunity for Sky Sports to come and visit and film the scheme in all its glory. Whilst discussing the point of using the St Mary's School facilities, owing to the fact that this is a state school I have asked the Local Council to allow the school and the development scheme to run on a dual basis scheme in that when the school are not using the gym then the scheme can at a minimum cost. As well as the above the council can publicise the scheme through leaflets in the local leisure centres, letters to parents from within the school and posters on local notice boards. Any sort of publicity is good publicity.

Also once an alliance has been forged with the local government then any advice in terms of lottery applications can be obtained through the relevant government office. As previously mentioned the alliance with Hampshire County Cricket Club could prove beneficial with any companies and charities that may come on board with the scheme and lend their support. It has been agreed with HCC C that due to the good work the scheme will be doing in the area and potentially supplying future cricketers then they will make available a corporate box for our funders to wine and dine any potential clients of theirs. In order to achieve any funding from Sportsmatch it is essential to be affiliated with your national governing body and as previously mention in this project, the fact that we have worked in association with Hampshire County Cricket Club then that automatically makes the scheme members of the E CCB. Also it will be necessary to form an alliance with Norwich Union in order to obtain a sponsorship grant and therefore enabling the scheme to still be eligible for the matching grant made by Sportsmatch..
