Americans Look example essay topic

367 words
As an American, sometimes I find it hard to express my patriotism. We as Americans are always taking things for granted. Whether it be, a stroll in the park, going out with friends, or going to the church of your choice. I look at other countries and there situations and then I start to appreciate what I have and what America has to offer. Isn't it a shame that we need to see the outcries of foreign nations and the turmoil of its people in order to see and embrace what we think so little of? I wonder how other countries look at us ungrateful Americans.

I wish when I look at the flag I could feel pride swell up in my chest and the comfort of knowing that I am an American and that alone is worth having. I love my country I love the freedom and my fellow citizens. I feel special for being allotted the chance to be myself and think how I want to and go where I want and love who I want. I'm glad that I can love who I want.

I am proud to be an American and I am happy to show my patriotism. I see a lot of people everyday walk pass me and it's so impersonal and cold. If I could change anything I would change how Americans look at each other. We are so caught up in our everyday lives and we rarely stop to think about what our fellow brethren are going through and if they may need a helping hand. I feel this is an important part of patriotism, because it expresses our loyalty to our country and its citizens. To be honest I think the government doesn't usually show any patriotism.

They take and take and make all these decisions that greatly affect the daily lives of the American people. But maybe that's apart of being the government, making decisions that most people don't agree with it. I don't know if I could do it. The red, white and blue. It's apart of.
