Intro: The beliefs that America is entirely free is not correct, in the introduction I plan to bring into view the ideas that each person has about our society and then explain that these ideas may not be necessarily true. Also I am going to speak about t the way that our society has developed and not necessarily our freedoms. Thesis: In changing the way that the government handles the political aspects of censorship, the country can follow to a point where things and people are allowed to express their views and truly be free. Argument The allowances of 'fine art' are much more liberal then those of popular music and television. TV and music are the same in that they are an artistic expression and form of entertainment and should be held in the same regards. Counter Television is easily accessible to the masses, including children and minors who can be easily influenced.
'Fine art' is something which people deliberately view, and thus TV should be appropriate for all those who can wonder across it. Argument The media is available to all people and thus should be able to hold subjects according to all tastes. To suppress entertainment is another way that our countries people are stifled. Counter Not all people want to be exposed and therefore should not have to feel threatened by such things. Just because we have advanced in society does not mean that we must loose the moral aspects of life. Argument People should freely be given the options to have and show public anything which is non prejudice and does not promote harm.
To restrict these things is to take away the freedom of the first amendment. Counter What is non-offensive to one person may be offensive to others. Who will put the limitations of such issues and why should we trust their judgment as opposed to leaving things the way that they are now.
