When many people start smoking, they don't think about the cause and effect of what cigarettes will do to them or other around them. Every year, more then 400,000 American deaths are attributed to smoking. Smoking has been banned in restaurants, workplaces and other public areas. After this law was passed many people had different thoughts if this was right or not. It's also illegal for cigarettes to be sold to anyone under the age of 18, but some how they still find a way to get their hands on them. By having people over the age of 18 buying them or stealing them form parents or other people.

Even with all the loss of customers by death, tobacco companies still manage to make a large profit. Well, every time you smoke a cigarette, each puff introduces a drug called Nicotine into your body along with thousands of other toxic chemicals. Nicotine is the substance responsible for fooling your brian into releasing a chemical called Dopamine. Nicotine receptors on your nerve ending receive the Dopamine and create nerve cells. It's Dopamine that gives you a false sense of well-being, and soon the body wants more and more Dopamine on a regular basis. This is the beginning of your addiction.

When people smoke they don't realize that they stink. Their hair, clothing, car, and home stink. Anywhere a person smokes, becomes a smelly "ash try", filled with the disgusting odor of cigarette smoke. When people are smoking, they don't just how bad cigarettes can make them and everything around them smell. When people begin to cut back or quit smoking, one of the first thing they notice is just how bad cigarette smoke smells. 75% of people in the U.S. don't smoke, and most of them are bothered by second hand smoke when they go to public places.
