Ball In The Net With Two Seconds example essay topic

730 words
The Big Game This was the day of my big game, the day where we had to win this lacrosse game. If we didn't win this game, we would get knocked out of the playoffs. If we didn't beat Dedham, our season would be over. I woke up and got dressed for the game, I put on my shorts, gathered all my equipment, and made a game plan for the big game. I thought to myself, "I need to play the best game of my life and never quit". I went downstairs and heard a car honking outside.

I went to the door, put on my cleats, and went outside. My friend George and I got out of the car and put on our equipment, and went to start practicing. I was the goalie so of course I have the biggest responsibility on the field. I knew I had to step up and make a lot of saves.

The horn blew and the game started, Dedham won the face off and is running down the field at a faster pace than I was used to. They shot the ball! I couldn't move my stick quick enough to save it, so I threw my body in front of it and got hit right in the shoulder. It hurt a lot, but what I hadn't realized was that it hit my shoulder and reflected ten feet away from the net where my player caught it and ran down the field and scored. The other team didn't know what hit them. It was the half now and the score was three to nothing in our favor.

Our couch told us that we needed to keep up the good work. We took the field in the second half. We won the face off this time. We went down the field, shot the ball, and the goalie saved it. He threw the ball up to his forward right in front of me, and I stepped up and hit the kid to prevent him from getting the pass and scoring. When I hit him, he fell straight to the ground and I couldn't see where the ball was.

It bounced and went in the net. I was so embarrassed at that point. The next face Dedham won it. The kid shot the ball immediately, but I saved it. The one thing my coach always said to me was, "to use the element of surprise; they would never expect you to leave the net". I took the ball and surprisingly got all the way up field and shot the ball, it was sailing perfectly in the air that I was sure it would go in the net.

The goalie tried to stop it, but I knew it was going in. It did! I jumped in the air and cheered for myself. The score was now four to one us. I think that at that point my teammates thought we had the game in the bag, but that's not what the other team thought.

They played their hearts out and got the score to be four to four tie. There were only thirty seconds left in the game when they shot the ball on me. I tripped and fell to the ground, but I threw my stick up and miraculously saved the ball. I picked up the ball and used the element of surprise once again. I got all the way up field where I knew the goalie would expect a shot from me, so I went down there.

When I was about to take my shot, the goalie lined up on me not seeing my teammate with a better shot if I passed it. I passed the ball quickly to my teammate who shot it, the ball bounced off the goalies head and into my stick, I never was expecting this but I threw the ball in the net with two seconds left in the game, we won. My whole team ran on the field in excitement. I got the MVP of the game and I knew I deserved it because I never quit, even though.
