Being A Mature Person example essay topic
Both bad and good. So what does this have to do with maturity Fittingly, maturity relies on how we make mistakes and how we learn from them to make ourselves better. Wisdom is perseverance, the ability to sweat out a situation in spite of heavy opposition and discouraging setbacks. Therefore the more wisdom and self confidence we have the more mature we are likely to be. Humility is a quality that most mature people posses.
People who have humility are humble, and not over-pretentious. Those who are mature, and have and high sense of humility, also acquire integrity. For instance, being a mature adult is being honest enough to say, I am wrong. And when right, the mature person need not experience the satisfaction of saying, I told you so.
It is the little things such as that, which separate the impostors of maturity from the true possessors of maturity. Being responsible is the most important attribute a mature individual can own. Responsibility is the ability to control anger and settle differences without violence or destruction. Without the action of responsibility it is impossible for one to be called mature.
A good example of responsibility that many people face every day is: working long hours providing for your family, even when you don't want to. Responsibility means dependability, keeping one's word, comin through in a crisis. The immature are masters of the alibi. They are confused and unreliable. As we increase our understanding of responsibility we also heighten our sense of maturity. Maturity hits everyone at different times in our lives.
And the three major parts of maturity: wisdom, humility, and responsibility may not come all at once. If you wish to know whether you are maturing or not, do not measure yourself by comparison with someone else. That will tell you nothing. Instead, ask yourself, "Am I moving away from childish attitudes Am I forsaking infantile behavior Am I still governed by childish reactions and outbursts" Answer these questions truthfully to yourself and see if you really are as mature as you thought you were..
