Best Qualities In Good Parents example essay topic

Good Parenting Almost everyday I hear new information about parents hitting their children, or abandoning them because the kids were too much to handle. It seems like society today does not care for its children in a proper manner. Nobody ever mentions anything about the parents that treat their children right. People do not ever stop to think about what makes a good parent. Here are some qualities that make a good parent. One of the best qualities in good parents is providing love and affection for their children.

The most obvious way to let children know that their parents love them is by saying, "I love you". Another way, is supporting the choices they make in life. A lot of parents do not encourage their kids to make the right choices when they are young; that sometimes results in bad judgments later in the child's life. Parents should support their children even if they do not agree with the choices the child makes. For instance, when I was younger I wanted to join the track team and my mother didn't want me to, because she was afraid that I would get hurt. She let me join anyway because I really wanted to.

Helping children with their problems is a big part of being a good parent, as well as providing love. Parents should be able to play a big role in their childs life; that includes being very active in their social environment. For example, parents should know their kids' friends as well as their enemies, where they hang out, what kind of music they listen to, their favorite movies, etc. They should also be fully aware of the child's education. That does not mean just knowing their grades. The parent needs to know what they are studying in class, help them with their homework, and help them study for tests.

That's only if the child needs or wants help. Another quality of being a good parent is providing the basic necessities in a home. For example, being able to have food on the table every night, which is one of the most important necessities to have. Another thing a person has to have is clothes. The quality of the necessities depends on what the parents income is annually. For example, if one kid's parent is a lawyer, then that family has nicer quality possessions than a family whose parent works at Walmart.

Having nice possessions is not what matters. What matters is parents being able to provide for their children (s). So before people start to judge parents and how they raise their children, keep one thing in mind: nobody is perfect. If more people really want to be good parents all they have to do is: provide their children (s) with love, help them with their problems, provide them with a home, and most of all, just let them know that they care.
