I found the critical thinking inventory very interesting and informative. I will go into detail in the following paper as to why I came to this conclusion. I did take the survey and analyze all of my answers prior to writing this paper. I feel that doing so has given me a greater perspective on my thoughts and beliefs. Starting at he top I feel that my mother and father where by far the greatest influence in my life.

They have accomplished this by always being good role models and setting high standards. They also always made sure that I received good support, both physical and mental, whenever I needed it. From them I think that I have learned sound interpretation skills and also good judgment skills. One of the things that I need improving on is my investigation skills. I need to learn to research more into statements or claims that individuals or companies make. I feel that my extent on truth has been reasonable until now given the limits of my education.

I think that as I continue my education those truths will either be verified or they will be shown false. I have always made it a point to try and separate hearsay from fact. I also don't generally have any problems admitting when I don't know something. I am very consistent with making sure that the opinions I hold are informed. I try not to limit myself because I think that there is always better ways of doing things.

I try and keep myself open to change. I think that without change life would become very unfulfilling and dissatisfying. I feel that the strongest of my urges tend to be the urge to meet my wife's expectations. This has made me a better person because it gives me accountability.

I usually don't worry too much about saving face unless it comes to my integrity. I am only anxious of what my family thinks of me and usually don't worry about what most others think. I also try not to make generalizations about other races because I believe that every race has good and bad to offer. I think that sometimes I oversimplify complex matters as a way for me to cope and accept them easier. I try not to jump to conclusions because even though this may make me feel smarter in the short run, I feel that in the long run it will make me ignorant.

I am only recently learning that not everything that I had thought was truth, necessarily is. I feel that by keeping an open mind and continuing my education, I will be able to make better judgments and opinions. In conclusion, I feel that I really learned a lot about myself by taking time to write these things down. I think that I have a lot more to work on, especially studying situations better before I get involved.

I am hoping that this class will be a tool to me accomplishing that task. I truly believe that there is a lot to be learned from studying one's own habits and ideas..
