Black History example essay topic

335 words
My grandmother always told me, "You don't know where you are going until you know where you have been. Things just wouldn't be the same if we didn't have any evidence of where, when, or how, America was shaped by Black History. In my opinion", Black History" is just a classification of American history. Primarily because America would not be the free country it is today, if it were not for strong black leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks. African Americans have always showed strength and bravery in their beliefs.

They have stood up when they were told to sit down and sang when they were told to be silent. African Americans contributed to major movements of our American constitution, such as Abolition of Slavery, Women's Rights, and also gave Americans of different countries the right to vote. Traditional reasons that individuals go to such extremes to flee their countries and come to the United States of America were initiated by intelligent minds that just so happened to be African Americans. Possessions and necessities needed in every day life were inspired and invented with determination and true heart by African American people. Personally, I would not want to live without my understandings of our past history.

I would never want to imagine reading a poem by Langston Hughes or being deprived of one of the many inventions (invented by a strong brother or sister) I need so much. We as a people discuss future ideas and plans that we intend to complete and go foward with, sometimes taking for granted our past heroes,'s heroes, leaders, and teachers who paved the way for such events to happen. Things just wouldn't be the same if Colin Powell were not in office or if George Washington Carver had not invented peanut butter. There are so many aspects of American history but without Black history, the truth is, things just wouldn't be the same.
