Certain School Rule example essay topic

High school life in my father's time period was different than mine because he lived in Vietnam, yet it is also similar in certain ways. During the decades that have passed, not everything stayed the same. Technology has increased to benefit the world today. Relating to change, schools also alter in determination to enhance the school's environment and performance. Schools today differ in the rules, homework, and clothing from the past in my father's time period, which I think the changes are more beneficial because of the up to date advanced technology of today.

Rules have been developed to keep school grounds safe and obedient. The school rules are similar as the rules now days. We have the same basic rules like getting to class on time, following teachers? orders, and to treat each other with respect. These are several kept rules throughout time. The only main difference is the punishment given when disobeying a certain school rule. In Vietnam, the rules are kept very strict and must be followed or the teacher will consequently spank the student with a bamboo stick.

The student usually gets spanked on the behind or on the palm of the hand. Back then, teachers had very high authority. In my father's opinion, the students were more afraid of their teachers than their parents. Of course today people will call spanking child abuse and therefore that punishment has been prohibited. Rules are important in schools and in everyday life and so we keep the basics and gradually evolve the other rules following the appropriate time period. In school, homework is a daily necessity to practice and review on a certain topic.

My father and I both share a same opinion about homework. We know it is useful because it helps us learn and will assist us in the future. We both do not like to do homework though. Many students, or maybe over ninety percent of the students do not enjoy doing homework however it is given in order to help students improve. Failure to do homework in Vietnam could result to a zero as a grade, or a spank in the hand. We also get zero's if we do not do our homework, however sometimes teachers will accept it late.

In Vietnam, if a student fails to do the assigned homework, than it will result to a zero and there is no make up or any late work accepted due to the strict rules that apply. Overall homework is continued through out generations and probably will continue on because of the effectiveness on improving a student on certain topics. The types of clothing students wear reveal their personality and style. In schools many different named brands are worn that come from all different brands. For example, now days in school people were clothes like Nike, Adidas, Abercrombie and Fitch, and other sorts of brand names. Back in my father's time period, students did not get to choose what they wanted to where.

Instead they had to wear uniforms. For the boys, the uniforms would consist of blue pants and with a white chemise for the shirt. For girls, they wore long dresses that could not show any cleavage. In my father's opinion, he likes the uniforms because everyone would have an equal type of clothing and also the uniforms were cheaper.

He also thought that it was easier not having to pick what to wear everyday to school. Now days, most districts allow students to select their clothing however several school districts still require uniforms. I prefer the freedom of choice because clothing is a way to express your personality and looks. As detailed, the changes have mostly become beneficial and more reasonable for the time being today. The point of view of my father and I were different and similar to represent opinions about our high school life and the changes that have occurred during the separated time period.
