Christmas Holidays come once a year. Its supposed to be a time of celebration and fun. You get together with your friends and family, laugh and share memories. Holidays may seem exciting but there are several effects that holidays can have on family.

For some people it is a very exciting and cheerful experience. At first you see all the kids opening presents with smiles on their faces. You get to see family numbers you haven't been able to see for weeks, months even years. Christmas is a time to share the joys of being together. We have a tradition that on certain holidays we eat the same types of food and dessert. For example, on Christmas Eve with our immediate family we eat chicken pot pies.

It's great! Then it comes time to go to grandpa grandmas house. We all exchange gifts there and everyone is opening presents, I think that they forget what Christmas is all about. We are celebrating Jesus's birthday. Next we all have to say something we are thankful for, and the children always say their parents and the parents always say their children.

Its fun but it surely gets old after a while. Next, grandma brings out the her special homemade pumpkin pie. Even though we are all stuffed, we still have to have a piece. When that is said and done we still have more places to go. Now, we are all getting crabby and irritated. We still have more stops to make.

My daughter gets so spoiled rotten its not even funny. We finally get to my boyfriends mom and dads house. There are more people all over to give her more presents to open. By now its almost dinner time, so we have to eat again! We are so full that are buttons are all falling off our pants.

Of course, we eat anyways. Then I help with the dishes, now its getting really late and they want to play cards. It seems to me I don't have enough energy for this. We still do it anyways. By this time my daughter is crabby and tired and wanting those itchy tights off and wants to go home to snuggle in her warm bed. So finally we are done playing cards and we say our good bye's.

At the beginning of the day we were so happy and cheerful by the end of the day we were miserable. We now got home around 10: 30 pm. I still have to get my daughter in bed and do Santa Clause stuff. We finally get to rest.

In conclusion, Holidays can be fun and happy but by the end of the night you are so tired you can't see straight.
