Cloning is what makes another human being a human. People study cloning everyday of their lives and make money doing it. Cloning really is a way of life to some people. What do you know about cloning and do you think we should accept it? The word clone had many different meanings. The scientific meaning is organisms in your body handed down through asexual reproduction.

Clone is a word given to us by the Greek. The word then meant "twig" (Cohen 9). The first thing people cloned were a sheep called Dolly. She was the first mammal to be cloned ("Cloning" 39, 40). Another term you will need to know is chloroplasts. Chloroplasts are identical structures that have genetic al material in them.

Plasmids are particles found in some bacteria and yeast's ("Clone" 684,685). Cloning is a very old process. People have been cloning for over two thousand years and haven't even known it. People who grow plants from stem cuttings are cloning that plant. Scientists think that a German scientist Hans Spe mann first discussed cloning. In 1952, two American researchers transplanted the nucleus from a cell of an embryo frog to a d enucleated frog egg (Newton 39, 40).

Once the egg cell detected that it had a full set of chromosomes it began to divide and grow on its own ("History of Cloning" online). When an earthworm is cut in half they make themselves again to complete the missing parts (Travers 17). Cloning has many different stages. One of the stages is called the two - cell stage.

If an egg completely separates during the two - cell stage, identical twins will be the result. Both people will have exactly the same genes. A man by the name of Steen Willadsen developed a way to divide sheep embryos. This is what made cloning possible (Travers 17). Willadsen also was the leader of the team who cloned a sheep's embryo.

A scientist named Neal First led the second team. His team cloned a cow's embryo. A Scottish scientist made his goal to create a sheep that produced a certain chemical in its milk. His name was Ian Wilmot.

He chose to alter the adult cells and then clone them ("History of Cloning" online). Causes of cloning vary from day to day. Cloning has many different causes, some for it, and some against it. Cloning can create organs for people who need them without having to take someone else's organs. It also can let a woman who can't have children have a child of their own.

When babies are born dead they recreate them to be alive. Species that are extinct can be made and reproduce so they will not die out anymore. We could also create food so there wouldn't be a food shortage anymore. The people who came up with this idea could make lots of money. This cloning topic could be used to help in biological research (Nazeesh online). This topic could help improve the life of humans.

Cloning could help produce biological proteins to help the people who have diseases. It could help find cures for diseases that have not been cured today. This could provide adults with a child just like the one they had before he or she died. Single women could have a child without that child having a father. Goals for cloning would be placed high. It could create better engineering the offspring in humans and animals.

Cloning could give scientists new data to work with. The agricultural industry could produce better livestock ("Why We Should Use Cloning" online). Cloning could be used to recreate the lost limbs on people. We could learn about the aging process (Nazeesh online). Cloning would provide the medical industry with real results that are accurate.

Scientists will be able to alter the adult cells ("Why We Should Use Cloning" online). Scientists find it hard to produce healthy clones consistently. Cloning has not yet been perfected ("Clone" 684,685). If we try to clone endangered species it is possible that we could kill the last few there is. Cloning doesn't respect the fact that humans have souls. Cloning is unnatural ("Why We Should Not Use Cloning" online).

Men would not be needed anymore. Possible you could have poorly developed lungs. It would be more likely for your heart to fail. Cloning could cause many defects in offspring. It could cause you to have skin infection (Boyce 42, 43). Cloning can cause a great decline in the gene pool.

If you start cloning people our world would be overpopulated. There would be to many people walking around that were clones ("Why We Should Not Use Cloning" online). Scientists want to clone people to clone people to use there organs then just kill them. That would be considered murder. Clones are human and they have souls just like us (Nazeesh online). With cloning comes many issues and debates.

When Clinton was our president ordered a stop to federal funds that provided research on cloning legal the percentage of birth defects would decrease. Some scientist thinks that the crime rate would decrease also (Oscar online). Most people think that if cloning continues it will lead to the cloning of humans. People think that since scientist haven't researched cloning enough that there would be no way to be sure that the cloned humans would develop normal ("Cloning" 42). Detractors would hold on to anything to find fault with cloning. They also worry about how clones will react to the learning that they are just a clone.

They think that our country will just use clones to build up an army that you can't beat (Oscar online). Solutions are something that you don't find many of in cloning. The one and main solution to cloning is that it must be stopped. If cloning don't get stopped they will continue until they are cloning humans. Look at it, they have cloned sheep, mice, pigs, and even a steer. If we don't stop it there is no telling what will come next (Boyce 42, 43).

Some researchers have already gathered in Italy for the first serious meeting on the issue of cloning humans. Some people say that they have already tried to clone a human and will continue until they succeed (Boyce 42, 43). The reason why I chose to do research on the subject cloning is because I have very firm beliefs on the issue. I believe that we should put a stop to cloning. People think its OK to clone animals. Animals are just as sweet as humans are.

When you clone something over and over and you never seem to get it right you are hurting the many animals you messed up on. If we don't stop cloning it will lead to human cloning. I believe that human cloning is wrong also. If you clone a person and it comes out with something wrong with it then you are hurting a fellow American. Most people say that it's just a clone. That's where they are wrong.

People may think that but stop and realize how you got here. I know it is a little different, but you are a clone. Cloning has many different definitions but you are a clone. You look at least somewhat like both of your parents, don't you? You act like both of them in a way to, don't you? No, we were not taken and put in a machine and made the exact same thing but in a since we are a clone.

You need to stop and think what your like would be like if you were cloned and something came out wrong with you. Cloning as an issue has an effect on me in general. If cloning continues and comes down to human cloning our world will be overpopulated. There won't be enough food, jobs will be less and less, and our world would be unbearable. Before we know it we would be working for a bunch of clones. Every city in our nation will be like New York City.

If we let this continue long enough than one day we may have a President who is a clone made from a machine. This issue not only changes my life but in a way it changes yours to. We need to stand up for ourselves and say that we don't want cloning here and that all these scientists who think that they can go around cloning everybody need to get out of our country and our nation. The cloning issue is unlawful and morally wrong and people should look down on themselves for even thinking that they could do something like this to a fellow American. I think this nation should rise and say that we don't want cloning to be a part of America or this world. We shouldn't accept cloning in our towns or our world.

We shouldn't let it change our lives and take our jobs and our families away from us. We need to say that we don't need or want cloning here or anywhere around us.
