Ability to make choices or in the other words freedom of will is a very controversial matter in all the societies and in human life. Living in the communities that do not promote democracy and freedom of human will can easily contradict the fact that choice is an obvious privilege that the people have in all communities. For example in countries like Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan we can obviously see that 'will' is of little importance in governing the country. There are some rules set by a minority group and the rest of the people are obliged to comply with every single decree they pass as constitutional laws, such as women's dress code. On the other hand, surprisingly, I can exemplify democratic countries that can also demonstrate lack of absolute freedom. This includes for instance the religious dress codes for the people that prefer a rather conservative look in society like Muslims.

No matter how hard the society tries to practice freedom, these minorities have lower chance of employment for example and consequently they may be forced to involve less with the society. If we put aside community related matters, however, such as dress codes and other communal behaviors, personal decisions and attitudes can be considered mostly as elective choices. I believe God has created us with free will as far as we are concerned with our own salvation. Although some events may appear inevitable, we can still choose our selections among many existing in a situation. According to each circumstance, we can still choose out of several choices. This choice will interact with the upcoming events and it will further introduce new ways to pick.

We can tangibly discern this fact by experiencing our everyday life events. Every morning we can choose how to start our day and how to encounter every situation that may arise. We can be eclectic on selecting the things that may interest us such as careers and fields of study from early age. No matter how inevitable situations may render such as being born with inborn deficiencies or unavoidable accidents, we can't declare that the world is unfair and we have no right to choose. The fact is that these are all divine ways of testing us. We, human beings can react differently to each situation.

We can encounter the problem with enough patience and contemplation and choose the optimal way to deal with the bad event or we can lose our faith and act inhumanly to the problem aroused. The choice is ours. I think that freedom of choice can be dealt with two different approaches. First, the communal choices that are somewhat limited and we have to surrender to community laws in order to avoid community punishments. Second, the personal decisions that are fairly exclusive to each individual. That is why I think trying to make optimal decisions is of a great importance.

Believing that human being has freedom of will, renders his everyday duties much more difficult and at the same time more valuable.
