Approaches at work The conflict management approaches at work vary from supervisor to supervisor as we each have our own experience and background on how to deal with conflict. Most people regard conflict as detrimental to any workplace and immediately want to squash all mention of the word at any cost. The real answer is that conflict can be good and will spur others to think of different points of view or foster better ideas to come up with better solutions, but better yet how do I as a supervisor apply this to my team and how it may affect my co-workers? The main approach for solving conflict at work is for my boss to facilitate or mediate a problem with whatever the concern may be.

Usually, both sides try and give accurate information on the events that took place; most times it's a misunderstanding of sorts and can be worked out by talking to whoever's involved. For my success in dealing with conflict he always gives feedback and let's me know what it is that I can achieve better, in most cases this is getting to the point of the real problem, most employee will skate around an issue until provoked for a response, it is this that has the very fine line you must walk in order to know what to get out of people. The next approach we use in dealing with conflict between co-workers or supervisor to supervisor often leads to face time between the two in conflict with no managers present in a separate room away from the floor until both can come to an agreement. Although I have been in this situation before and felt nothing has gotten accomplished with the addition of worrying if I'll kill someone I'm in a heated debate with it has worked for others.
