At B&L all the different factors of diversity are present and all are embraced and accepted. I have observed that all employees have respect for each other and everyone is perceived as an equal. This allows the managing of the diversity present in our workplace to be unproblematic. The main factor that creates diversity at B&L is age. There are employees that range from the youngest at 22 years to the oldest of 65 years.
I have not seen the age gap bring problems in to the workplace, instead only benefits. There are also many different cultures that make B&L diverse. Interpersonal problems, such as disagreements between two employees, are dealt with through meetings between employees and supervisors or managers. If conflicts are escalated to the point disciplinary action is required, a Human Resource representative is engaged to assess the situation and move forward with a plan of action. Worst case scenario, if the employees are unsatisfied with the outcome of conflict, they have the option to escalate their differences to an executive level in the business stream.
