Conflicts Blanche example essay topic
501 words
Nicole Bonar There is a deep definition of the word tragedy that is set in a Greek drama. There are basic points to this definition. The basic points are the miscalculations of the protagonist, the two conflicts of the principles they are torn on and the protagonist comes to a point when she has to cross the situation. This essay will describe these qualities in the character Blanche as a tragic heroine.
The first reason why Blanche is a tragic heroine is because of her miscalculations. She had miscalculations because she thought she could hide the truth of her leaving Belle Reve from everyone. She was wrong because Stanley found out the truth. She is as famous in Laurel as if she was the President of the United States, only she is not respected by any party (99).
This quote shows how everyone felt about Blanche in the town she had just left before visiting Stella and Stanley. She was not respected because of the things she had done. One of the things she had done was she got mixed up with a seventeen year old boy. His father found out and he took action against her. Blanche was too concerned with herself to realize she had miscalculated. In the end she reached the fatal situation by being committed to a mental institute.
There are conflicts Blanche held inside herself because of her tragic heroine qualities. One of the conflicts is that she wanted to become a better person. She tried her hardest but she did not quite reach where she needed to. Blanche would do things that she thought would be helping her sister, in the end this is what caused her demise. This caused her downfall because she got Stanley angry with her. Pig-Polack-disgusting-vulgar-greasy!
– them kind of words have been on your tongue and your sister's too much around here! What do you two think you are? A pair of queens? (107) This quote shows how fed up with Blanche's remarks Stanley was. Once Stanley became angry with Blanche he then caused her to be committed to a metal institution. The crossing of the situation of the story is when Blanche is alone with Stanley.
They both come face to face with the awful truth of the matter. The tragic event that happens is that Stanley takes advantage of Blanche and rapes her. There is a quote in the play where Stanley shows all his power. We ve had this date with each other from the beginning (130) In conclusion the character of Blanche is looked upon as a tragic heroine in the play A Streetcar Named Desire.
The title fits perfectly what Blanche was looking for when she left Belle Reve to come live with Stella. Instead Blanche came to a place that caused her downfall.

As probably any student, I was quite hesitant about asking somebody else to do my assignments at first. However, after EssayPride has sent me my first paper and I've read it, I understood that I could actually learn a lot from them. The research they've done was impressive and I understood the topic even better than after going to class and reading my textbook. I am not using this website to "cheat", I am using it as a tutoring service, they help me to understand the material better.
