Craft At Some Point example essay topic

In the summer of 1947 a series of puzzling events took place at Roswell, New Mexico. In the early days of July one of the influential and concrete UFO cases of all time evolved. It is not exactly known what took place due to various military and government cover-up campaigns. My proposition is that extra-terrestrial entities and their craft we refound in the desert near Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. There are 3 main points which will prove that this event took place. 1st: There were many eyewitness accounts of the incident.

2nd: There were news media accounts of the incident which were silenced by the U.S. government. And 3rd: The. S. military and government were greatly involved in the investigation of this incident. #1 There were many eyewitnesses to the strange events that took place in Roswell in the summer of 1947. This is one of the main reasons why this has been a lan mark case in the study of UFOs. Barney Barnett, a civil engineer and an outstanding citizen, said he saw the object while out on assignment. Credible and respected sources knew Barnett, who was a retired WWI veteran and past commander of the American Legion Post, and vouched for his credibility.

Barnett told of how he had spotted a bright metallic object in the distance. His first thought was that it was a plane that had crashed in the night. He traveled the one mile distance between himself and the object to discover that it wasn't a plane at all, but rather a "metallic disc-shaped object about 25 or 30 feet across. As he stood, looking at the object, a group of archeological students arrived from the opposite direction. They were all about the wreckage and soon discovered the bodies of apparently dead aliens. Barnett described them as: "like humans but... not humans.

The heads were round, the eyes were small, and they had no hair. They were quite small by our standards and their heads were larger in proportion to their bodies than ours. He went on to talk about the clothing of the aliens which "seemed to be one-piece and gray in color. You couldn't see any zippers, belts, or buttons". Very shortly a military officer arrived and cordoned off the are.

Barnett and the others were asked to leave and told not to talk about what they had seen. Along with Barnett there were many sightings by pilots, , and military officials. On June 24 a civilian pilot, named KennathArnold, was flying over the cascade mountains, in the state of Washington, observed 9 flying disc-shaped objects traveling in formation at a high rate of speed. The estimated speed of the 9 objects was 1,200 mph at an altitude of 10,000 ft. Their motion was described as a saucer skipping over water.

Eventhough these crafts were spotted in Washington it is believed that they are the same nine crafts sighted in New Mexico. Mark sloan, who was the operator at Carrizo zo flying field, spotted a flying saucer between 4,000 and 6,000 feet above the ground. Grady Warren, Nolan Lovelace, and Ray Shafter, who were all pilots, also observed the phenomenon. Warren told of the incident: "When we first noticed it at about 10: 00 am we thought it resembled a feather because it was oscillating. The nwe noticed its great speed and decided it was a flying saucer. Our guesses are that it was moving at between 200 and 600 mph.

Major Marcel of the U.S. Army was sent to a remote part of New Mexico where he found and examined some very extraordinary materials. There were long, slender, solid pieces like square sticks. The longest of theses was 3 or 4 feet. The weight of these prices resembled balsa wood but was not wood. Much of the material was a sort of parchment, with pink and purple symbols on it. This material would not burn or even smoke.

A substance that looked like tin foil was found in abundance. It was incredibly strong and would not burn either. Major Marcel was very insistent about the strength of the metal they had found. He was quoted as saying: "We did all we could to bend it. It would not bend and you could not tear it or cut it either. We even tried making a dent in it with a 16 o und sledgehammer, and there was still no dent in it...

". Brazil, a local rancher who accompanied Major Marcel to the crash site, estimated in a newspaper interview that even though the material collected was enough to fill two cars, the whole lot couldn't have weighed more than 5 pounds. There are two films of an autopsy of a female alien. One lasts 18 minutes and the other lasts 3. They show a pregnant alien with a thick skull and a brain resembling live, much unlike our own.

The dark eyes are covered with a black film which is removed to reveal two white orbs. There is female genitalia, but no navel and no hair. There are no coils of intestines. There are 6 fingers on each hand and 6 toes on each foot. This film has been studied by experts who say that if it's a fake it's a brilliant one. My 2nd point is that there were news accounts of the situation which were silenced by the U.S. government.

Lieutenant Walter Haut issued a release, without authorization, to the press which told of the crashed UFO. Int his release Lieutenant Haut confirmed, and I quote, "the many rumors regarding the flying disc became a reality". He went on to tell that the Roswell Army Air Field was fortunate enough to gain possession of a disc. This release was picked up and appeared in many newspapers across the U.S. and also in the London times. Haut was soon silenced by several blistering phone calls from Washington. There was a news blackout almost immediately.

Another example of the military trying to keep things quiet took place around 4: 00 pm on July 7th. John McBoyle, a local reporter, called Lydia Sleepy at KO AT radio station in Albuquerque. He told her that a flying saucer had crashed near Roswell. He claimed to have been there and described it as a big crumpled dishpan. He also mentioned something about little men being on board. As Lydia was using the teletype to relay the information, it suddenly stopped.

When she got back on the phone with McBoyle he seemed not only excited but under pressure and apparently speaking to someone else at the same time. The teletype then went on by itself and addressed Lydia directly. This is what it said: "AttentionAlbuqueque: Do not transmit. Repeat do not transmit this message. Stop communications immediately. Lydia asked McBoyle what she should do at that time.

McBoyle's reply was, and I quote, "forget about it. You never heard it. Look, you " re not supposed to know. Don't talk about it to anyone". Later McBoyle told Lydia that he had seen a plane with the wreckage in it take off destined for Wright Field. My 3rd and last point is that the U.S. military played the biggest role in the investigation of the crashed UFO.

All of the following information was taken from Top Secret military documents concerning a military group called Majestic-12. This group was formed to thoroughly investigate and examine the wreckage and evidence. During the investigation they discover that 4 small human-like being had apparently ejected from the craft at some point before it exploded. The 4 bodies were analyzed. It was the tentative conclusion of this group on November 30, 1947, that although these creatures were human like in appearance, the biological and evolutionary processes responsible for their development had been quite different from those observed in humans. The group decided to refer to them as Extra-terrestrial Biological Entities, or EBE's.

During the military's investigation many things were also concluded about the nature and origin of the craft. The craft was concluded to be a short range reconnaissance craft. This was mainly based on the craft's size and lack of any identifiable provisioning. It was certain that this craft did not originate on earth.

The group was unable to established a method of propulsion or guidance since no moving parts were found. Research along these lines was complicated by the complete absence of identifiable wings, propellers, jets, or other conventional methods of propulsion, as well as a total lack of metallic wiring, vacuum tubes, or similar recognizable electronic components. The propulsion unit was assumed to have been completely destroyed by the explosion that caused the crash. They determined that the craft crashed after following a long trajectory through the earth's atmosphere due to surveillance equipment and numerous sightings from individuals in other states, which we heard of earlier. There is such a great need for information on these crafts that the U.S. Air Force Project SIGN, Majestic-12, and Blue Book have all evolved to study this phenomena. What happened near Roswell that year is still somewhat of a mystery.

There are many conflicting stories and publication, many of which came from our own government. Considering all the facts, some things are for certain. UFO and its wreckage were seen by hundreds of people in the world's most landmark case of extra-terrestrial encounters.
