Teriesias. He is figure in greek mythology. He has been a woman and a man, and zeus struck him blind. Zeus gave him the gift of prophecy. He is known to posses god-given insight. He is the only one in the play who is not afraid of Oedipis.
Tere isas finds the gift of prophecy more of a burden then a benefit. Teriesias accusations (in the science between king and prophet) lead him on the course that will end with the stunning revelations at the end of the play. Jocasta She is the queen of Thebes, and was the wife of king laid, and mother of Oedipis. She later un knowingly marry's her son, not long after the death of King louis.

She murders a blood relation to prevent the possible killing of her husband. o Creon is Jocasta's brother and therefore oedipus's uncle, but then also becomes Oedipus's brother in law when Oedipus marries his mother Jocasta. o Creon receives all the privileges of a the royal couple, but with none of the worries o After the death of his king Lau is, Creon was assigned the responsibility to find the killer, yet it is argued by oedipus that he did not try very hard to do this. o Oedipus also abuses creon of hatching a plot to dethrone him, and although he is entirely innocent of the charge, Creon does seem to fit comfortably into the role of despot and tyrant (a person in power who exercises authority) o Creon is a man who seems content with his power and position, wants more, as only a king has the power of a king. o With that said creon is still offended that Oedipus would suggest he, Creon, might be plotting against a king. "I would soon as tear out this life within us" - As though saying he would sooner die himself before even conti plating trying to dethrone a king. o The of both Creon & Oedipus differ quite dramatically which is seen in their lengthy arguments.
