Darren And His Friends example essay topic
When I say "them" I mean Darren Shan and his friends Gary Smith and Jake Brown. Darren Shan and his friends are known to cause trouble with the new boys and boys who were in the lower years then them. I had only joined the school three weeks ago and I was already being bullied. I didn't want to tell my parents that I was being bullied because they would complain to the head teacher and all the kids would think that I am a coward. By the way my name is Todd. I live with my mum and dad near to the school.
Which can be a disadvantage because then I would have no excuses about the bad public transport, if I was late. I woke up the next morning (after the narrow escape from Darren and his friends) feeling fresh and dandy. Mainly because I had games at school today. When I arrived at school in the morning all my positive energy went down the drain, as I saw Darren and his friends waiting for me, outside the front gates of our school. I was scared. I was a statue standing absolutely still and motionless, staring right at Darren.
I then remembered that there was a back way into the school. I thought to my self that "yes I've done it,"every time Darren is standing at the front gates with his friends I'll go around the back and avoid Darren". But then I discerned that Mr Willis would be at the back door smoking, as he did, in the morning, because you were not allowed to smoke in school. Mr Willis was a strict teacher, who would always adhere to the rules.
I had to risk going around the back or I would get beaten up by Darren and his friends. I knew that if I got caught by Mr Willis trying to sneak through the fire exit I would be given a detention straight away. I had to risk it or I would have got beaten up by Darren and his friends. I went to the back of the school and I looked to see if I could spot Mr Willis. I couldn't see him. He must have finished with his fag.
I thought I was in the clear; I started to make my way to the door. My heart beat was becoming louder and quicker, I looked around. I couldn't believe I was doing this. I was scared and nervous, but at the same time excited at the chance of being caught.
I had made it through without being seen by Mr Willis or Darren. I was relieved and still a bit anxious to get into school just in case some one should see me. Then suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was Mr Willis' hand "What are you doing here, BOY!" asked Mr Willis I froze still; I didn't know what to say.
"I don't know way I am here sir", I replied "Well I'll let you off this time Todd, as you are new here". Said Mr Willis. "Thanks sir". I replied. I was surprised that Mr Willis had let me off. He must have been in a good mood.
The rest of the day was great, Darren didn't see me and he thought that I was absent. But at the end of the day Darren saw me leaving school. I ran, but him and his friends caught me. He left me with a few bruises, no money and torn trousers. I went home and thought to my self that I had to do something about that big bully Darren. I couldn't think of anything so I decided to go to the local high street.
I went to buy a camera because I needed one for a school project. I went into Boots and bought a disposable camera with film I thought that I should test the camera to see if it worked so I went into Gap Kids to take a picture. Then suddenly I saw Darren. My heart suddenly stopped. I thought to my self "What am I going to do?" I ran to the pillar and tried to hide myself from Darren. Then I saw his sister next to him.
I knew it was his sister because she had come to pick him up from school a couple of times. Then Darren disappeared for a second. I looked around the pillar and to my astonishment I saw Darren posing in front of a mirror with a red and black checked T-shirt and SKIRT. Then I heard him say to his sister "This would go great with the red and black checked cowboy hat I bought for the line dancing competition".
I then remembered that I had my camera, I took a photo of Darren wearing that stupid outfit. He went to the counter and bought the outfit, and then he left the shop. When Darren left the shop I thought to my self, that I had just maybe, found a way out of blackmailing Darren to stop bulling me and other people. I went home feeling excited and I couldn't wait for the next day. The next day I ran to school, I saw Darren at the gates talking to his friends. I called him aside.
He looked perplexed. I showed him the picture and straight away he ripped it up. I said "Don't worry, I've made hundreds of copies"You " ll never get away with it". Replied Darren "I think I will" I replied I told him to stop bulling me and other kids and in return I would not show anyone the photo.
He unwillingly agreed. Now I go to school without being worried about bumping into Darren. And what a relief that is.
