Death Holy Prophet The Followers Of Islam example essay topic
(Islam, a world civilization) History of Islam goes back to 570 A. D when its Prophet was born. "The history of Islam centers around one person, Muhammad (also spelled Muhammed or Mohammed). He was born around 570 A.D. and was raised by his extended family after the death of his parents. As he grew, he became dissatisfied with polytheism and came to believe in one God, Allah. He began to have religious visions around age 40. During these visions, Muhammad would receive "messages" or "revelations" from God.
He would memorize them and teach them to his followers. These visions are now recorded in the Que " an (or Koran). Muhammad continued to receive these visions until his death in 632 A.D". (History of Islam) The followers of Islam are called Muslims. Its followers has made great contribution in the spread of Islam and it would not he right if it is said that Islam was spread on the point of sword. "Mahatma Gandhi wrote in Young India - 1920:' I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place in Islam in those days in the scheme of life.
It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet, the scrupulous regard for his pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and his own mission. These and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every trouble. ' It is a striking fact of history that within three centuries, after Prophet Muhammad started preaching Islam in Mecca, Islam spread over the area of three continents; Asia, Africa and Europe. There are many reasons why people have been, from past to the present embracing Islam.
Muhammad Asad, a Jewish convert to Islam, says: "Islam appears to me like a perfect work of architecture. All its parts are harmoniously conceived to complement and support each other, nothing lacking, with the result of an absolute balance and solid composure. Everything in the teaching and postulates of Islam is in its proper place". (Islam at the Crossroads, p. 5) ". Among the reasons for the rapid and peaceful spread of Islam was the simplicity of its doctrine. Islam calls for believing in only One God, worthy of worship.
It also repeatedly instructs man to use his powers of intelligence and observation. Within a few years after the dawn of Islam, great civilizations and universities were flourishing under its influence, for according to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), "seeking knowledge is an obligation for every Muslim man and woman". " By So hail Hame ed "Islam means, "complete submission", i. e., submitting to the orders of Allah and acting in accordance with His Commands". By Maulana Mohammed Abdul-Alee m Siddiqui. The one don't submit himself to the command of Allah cannot be a true Muslim. If we look at the life of Holy Prophet (P.B.U. H) we can imagine what this submission means.
After the death Holy Prophet the followers of Islam spread all around the world with the to spread the teaching of Islam, that is, to Believe in one God and his Prophet. Islam. "In the tenth century, was the main religion, or at least, the religion of the majority of peoples in an area covering more than half of the civilized world stretching over three continents from the Pyrenees and Siberia in West and North Europe to the farthest end of Asia, up to China and New Guinea in the East; from Morocco in North Africa to the southern tip of Africa, covering two-thirds of the African continent. It is one of the most striking facts of human history that the spread of Islam over such a vast area took place within three centuries. Most striking of all, within half a century after the Hijra, Islam had already conquered the whole of North Africa from Egypt to Morocco, all the Middle Eastern lands from Yemen to Caucasia and from Egypt to the lands beyond Transoxsiana. It was during the reign of the third Caliph Uth man that the Muslim envoys reached the Chinese Palace, where they were welcomed enthusiastically, an important event marking, according to the historians, the beginning of Islam's entry into this country".
