Influences on the Declaration of the Rights of Man Enlightenment philosophes were such amazing thinkers that they had influence on another document in French history, the Declaration of the Rights of Man. These rights are liberty, property, security and resistance to oppression. ' Again, refering to his book The Two Treatises of Government. Voltaire also influenced the Declaration of the Rights of Man, with his views on religious tolerance.

The Declaration of the Rights of Man says 'no one shall be disquieted on on account of his opinions, including religious views'. Many of Voltaires works included notes on tolerance and acceptance.
