Different From The Family Life In Switzerland example essay topic
Most Australian women are housewives and do home duties, such as cleaning and cooking, as do Swiss women. However, it is also very common, that housewives in both countries work full or part-time. About 40% of the women in both countries have jobs in addition to their home duties. Although the women are working, they have to find time to look after the children and assist them with their homework and their personal issues. However, the difference is that Australians start to have children earlier, because they marry when they are around 23, whereas the Swiss marry when they are around 29 and so they have children late. Secondly, the men's roles in family life are similar in a number of ways in both countries.
Australian men go to work the whole day, as do Swss men. Just a minority of Australians and Swiss stay at home and do the housework and look after the children. However, there is a difference in the number of children. Australias have about three or four, while the Swiss have one or two. Thirdly, the children's roles in family life are very similar too. Aussie kids get a weekly allowance equal to Swiss kids.
In both countries the are raised to be independent and self-sufficient early in life and become involved in some household chores. Similarly to Switzerland, the Australian children start to move out of the home at the time the begin their studies or work, and often share an apartment with other students. The relationship between children and parents is very close in both countries and they spend a lot of time together. However, there is a difference at which time the become adults by law. Swss children become adults by law on their 18th birthday. In contrast, the Australian children become adults by law on their 21st birthday.
Despite the similarities, there is a great difference in the family homes. Most of the houses in Australia are made of bricks with a tile roof. On the other hand, in Switzerland they are made of timber and have a white surface. The outside walls are adorned with window boxes of geraniums and other flowers. Similarly, both of them have fenced yards and look neat and orderly. Most Australians and Swiss live in urban areas.
In Switzerland, it's very common for families to live in apartments, but in Australia most families live in houses. In conclusion, the family life in Australia is not very different from the family life in Switzerland. I think the most important thin in Australia and Switzerland is, that family members hold together, take care of each other and spend as much time as possible together. Because the family will always be there for you whatever life brings.
