El Jefe Tribe example essay topic
From then on his strength only grew his age. Although he had this amazing strength, he did not like to show it off much because he did not like the attention that came along with it. Not to say he was a shy guy he was just very humble. Well that is until one day he up and left his family in Virginia and explored his way to a little piece of land called Tejas.
Now Tejas had never been intruded upon by a white man or any other ethnicity for that matter other than Hispanic. But nothing got in the way of the determination of ole Jesse. Jesse road his horse, Stick, from Virginia to Tejas in only 8 days. Though he was a little nervous about invading the land of Tejas, Jesse decided that he was going to go in there and just be a happy-go-lucky kind of guy and make friends with all of the natives there. The very first people Jesse and Stick stumbled upon was a group of natives that consisted of about 350 people who called themselves El Jefe. Although they were the smallest "tribe" in Tejas, the refused to be known by anything other than "The Boss".
To make a long story short the tribe of El Jefe was a very accepting group and ended up nicknaming Jesse and called him El Gringo or Gringo. In their time together Jesse would teach the natives new techniques about hunting and even introduced to them the idea about bathing. In return the natives would teach their Gringo about such things as making clothes out of animal skin, new was to cook things over an open flame and how play a wooden flute. Needless to say, the natives and Jesse were meant to be. Although Jesse had been with the natives for almost six years, Jesse had not revealed his amazing strength and he had no intention of sharing his secret. That is until the tribe came under attack.
The tribe of El Jefe had an on going battle with the tribe of El Diablo over the territory that the El Jefe was settled on, the Handle of the Pan. Throughout the years the tribes had always been equally matched until El Diablo recruited the Dios to be on their squad therefore doubling in size and could take out the El Jefe tribe with just one swoop of their hand. Well Jesse was not going to be defeated on his watch. After much thought and consideration Jesse decided that he was going to whip out his talent and put it towards a greater good and save his best friends. Not far south of where the El Jefe tribe was located laid the Enchanted Rock, the largest rock on the face of the earth. This large rock was 6 miles wide and 2 miles across.
Jesse or Gringo, decided that he was going to get this enormous rock and throw it at the enemy as they were about to cross on to his tribes territory. Gringo quietly snuck away on his horse Stick and road away to a little territory called Llano. From their he was going to take the rock and throw it at the enemy as they were fast approaching. Finally the time came for the big event to take place. With his legs bent and his arms above his head with everything he had, Jesse threw the gigantic rock up in the air and watched it sail sky high over his tribe and on top of the combined tribe of the El Diablo and Dios. But, the rock was so huge that it created a huge canyon that stretched almost all the way across the Handle of the Pan territory in the region of Tejas.
To this day, the canyon remains in what is now known as the Panhandle of Texas. Jesse ended up naming the canyon, Palo Duro, after the his best friend and leader of the tribe of El Jefe. Without the amazing strength of just a normal Gringo, the land of Texas would not be marked with such a beautiful landmark.
