694 words
In the story a rose for emily william faulkner portrays two types of conflict. these conflicts are encounter d by the readers through the authors eye. an individu la that reads this story can see the different conflicting situations that arise in this story. emily's conflicts within herself and the communities conflicts towards her are the two main conflicts in this story. The conflicts within herself is more prominent than what she had with the community she lived in. Conflict within a character can deal with inner morals, dreams ambitions, and rights and wrongs. As we read this story we realize that e's c start as a young girl. er father who was a strict man did not let her have a healthy social life. he made her an out cast in her own community. this alone created mos to of the conflicting situations in her life after her fathers death. even after her fathers death she refused to acknowledge all the changes that were happening outside her house as the years went by. ' 'The confusion that Faulkner has given produces a confusion in Emily's life.
Emily went to and fro in the lonely circle and did not have any chance to break that circle's wall. Outside time was going by quickly as the natural direction. But Emily was encircled inside and was still where she had been. Yes, Emily is a person of the past.
Readers have this feeling in the very first sentences through the description of Emily's house: 'lifting its stubborn and coquettish decay above the cotton wagons and the gasoline pumps. ' This message of essential ugliness of contrast is a presentation of Emily in present time -- 'an eyesore among eyesores. ' During the story, the conflicts of the old and young generations push Emily all the way back to the past. ' ' for example she refused to pay tax's for the property when the officials contacted er she did not want to let go of her past traditions and laws. she denied the fact that the world has changed as te years went by.'s ee Colonel Satoris. ' Those are Emily's words to refuse her taxes, just as she refused the existence of Colonel Satoris's death -- the existence of present time.
Colonel Satoris's words still had its power in Jefferson and Emily lived with that power against present. she was afraid to let go of her past. her conflict lay within her because she did not know when to let go of a person or a situation. another example of this is when she falls in love with the yankee Homer Baron and kills him wit rat poison and hides his body in her house. her conflict ion is seen in this situation as an overpowering individual. these examples show her own conviction char cater that led her to became insane. conflict that arises in ths i story is the on the people in the has towards miss emily. even they res pec ted her they did not agree withe everything she did for examples her relationship with Barn was not well-liked among the women of the community. the people also were not font of her not paying taxes and refusing to believe that the south has changed. she did not care about what the people thought of her. for example when she started to teach cher a-painting to the young generation and had to sop when that generation grew up the no longer send their children to her. she was not di sayed or discouraged by this action. so te conflict the community had with her was the fact that she was living in her past. in conclusion we can see that the conflicts with in herself and the constant of the community made Miss Emily mentally ill and put her into a very instable state of mind. Emily is an embodiment of 'a fallen monument' which is secret and terrible and William Faulkner very well success in giving the reader an excellent opportunity to understand of the conflicts within.

As probably any student, I was quite hesitant about asking somebody else to do my assignments at first. However, after EssayPride has sent me my first paper and I've read it, I understood that I could actually learn a lot from them. The research they've done was impressive and I understood the topic even better than after going to class and reading my textbook. I am not using this website to "cheat", I am using it as a tutoring service, they help me to understand the material better.
