Estella was quite a character. She grew up in a so called 'pampered'; environment in which she was made into a bitter character in her older age. The only real insert that had a great impact on her life was a character named Pip. Pip and her had something in common, they both had benefactors. Estella and Pip had a great impact on each other lives. Estella grew up in a closed environment after being adopted by Miss Havisham.

She grew up knowing that she was to have a bright future ahead of her. Basically she was as spoiled as any girl could have been in her time frame. To describe Estella as a character is hard to do because she is so closed with her feelings. Early in the novel Great Expectations Estella did not hold in her feeling towards Pip at all.

She was very impolite in saying that Pip was just a little common boy not worthy of her. (a spoiled little brat) But she must have had some sort of a feeling for Pip because she let him kiss her after Pip's fight with Herbert. Her feelings for Pip were put off for awhile and she later on went for Drumm le. She was beaten and abused in every way possible. This must of opened her eyes a little, she knew she had to be with Pip. Estella's feelings are expressed later, after Miss Havisham passed on. She meets up with Pip and expresses her feeling towards him.

At the end of the novel Estella says that they shall never part again. This meaning that they would probably get married and settle down. In conclusion, I think that Estella was a basic example of puppet with no strings. She was this puppet until she over come the way her life was headed. It was a happy ending for Estella.
