There are many polarities found in the theme of the Ramayana. The Ramayana is one of the two great Indian epics. The Ramayana tells about life in India around 1000 BCE and offers models in dharma. The hero, Rama, lived his whole life by the rules of dharma; in fact, that was why Indian consider him heroic. When Rama was a young boy, he was the perfect son.

Polaritys are the way that people think and see the ways of there life. In the Ramayana, there are many characters that show evidence of Polaritys, but the character that I have chosen to best describe the different polarity's is Rama. Rama is a strong and well minded person with the ability to due things that no one else would even attempt to do. At the same time however Rama is constrained by human details, like height, weight and general strength defects. The evaluation of Rama in the Ramayana shows many interesting and very unique polarity's in which many things can be compared and described. One of the most important polarities that is in the character of Rama is the fact of showing how evil and good have a clash.

Rama, being a well minded person acted in very positive manners through the entire book. Versus how other characters would have a negative way of seeing things. And example of one good thing that Rama displayed was how Rama would follow his fathers footsteps and would obey his every command. The polarity that I would like to analyze is how Rama helped out Sugreeva and then accidentally shot her brother. This is a huge turn form good and evil. It could mean a lot of things really.

We don't know the actual idea that Rama had in his mind when he was plotting to kill this person or even if it truly was a surprise accident. I found this polarity very amazing and saw a simple connection to how I see life. I think that all individuals live there life daily as well minded people. But sometimes there are certain things that happen causing people to act in a negative manner. For example, a person might help you one day but if she / he hears something through someone, they would instantly be turned from your friend to your enemy and this is a very common thing that occurs in todays society. I believe that this is a true mistake in how people see life.

This is a picture of hanuman, a great servant of Rama. People should see things in a much more positive manner if they wish to truly understand the meaning of life. Besides the many likeable ways of Rama, Rama in true was hated by many people. He was seen as a person who would be envied more than seen as a true leader or storing individual. This map below shows the route of Rama, in the book of the Ramayana. Polarities are opposites that show many things of people.

In the case of Rama, Rama was a great person with incredible features and mental capabilities. He was both liked by some but yet hated by others. This is true in todays life, a person will always be liked by some and hated by some. There will never be anyone in this world who is not hated by at least one person. This diagram shows the positive and negative ideas of the ideas named below. WEAK / BAD NEUTRAL GOOD IDEA NO NO YES The complete idea of the republic and empire.
