Every 100 Illegal Aliens example essay topic
We are paying for this problem through increased taxes and diminished job opportunities for legal residents. For every 100 illegal aliens who find jobs in the US, 65 American workers are displaced 2. Each year more than a million illegal aliens will enter the US. Most of them are unskilled and uneducated.
Many have medical problems such as tuberculosis and other diseases that are not typical in this country. These people are not only costing us money and jobs, they are also impacting our society. Every year, more than 72,000 illegals are arrested for drug offenses 2. More than 25% of all federal inmates are aliens.
Witness the fact that one of the lead suspects in the Washington DC sniper shootings is an illegal alien. These numbers show the terrible social cost to our society. Those who come to this country illegally must hide in the shadows. It is difficult for them to assume a normal and open role helping our county to grow, and acquire the cultural values of those who are here legally. Add to this a liberal media bias and the problems grow worse.
It seems that most network news and major newspapers are always putting America down. They refuse to present the news in a balanced manner. This results in a country divided at a time when all Americans should support our president. The media is so hungry for news that they often seem to compromise the safety and secrecy of our forces. They are giving away military secrets to the terrorists every day. There seems to be an agenda in every major story.
The slant on the Arab Israeli conflict never tells about the Arabs beating and murdering innocent Israelis. The only news the liberals cover is of Jewish people imposing on the "guiltless" Palestinians. I am sure that this is an uneven portrayal of that long-term conflict. From abortion to taxes, it is sure that major media will portray the liberal party line. Probably the worst thing happening to our country is the erosion of our moral values. Since the Sixties, it seems that religious values have been discounted in favor of "feel good" values.
A most notable example is two terms of Bill Clinton in the Whitehouse. Clinton is a pathological liar and a sex hound. The only thing he did was encourage homosexuality and sex changes. Christians have lost the war against abortion. Christian concepts have been kicked out of education, and now schools are filled with propaganda and perversion. Christians have lost their voice to political correctness.
Although they are a majority, their influence in politics, press, and entertainment has been diminished. Today, kids are bombarded with programs that show men in demeaning roles. The family is no longer the traditional Mom, Dad and the kids. Environmentalism has risen to religious proportions. Television programs encourage people to protest the war because there is lead in bullets, thus polluting the environment.
There is nothing but sex on TV these days. Ever since God was taken out of this country, America has struggled. SAT scores are down, violent crimes are up, and abortion clinics are doing a booming business. People just care for themselves not the country anymore.
This country was based on Christian values, and we must not deny out heritage. Values like these are the backbone of patriotism. When the people have patriotism, the country will be restored back to it's former glory. This country is facing many challenging problems. Illegal immigrants, media, and lack of values are degrading this beautiful country.
Things need to change, and people need to take action. We must unite once again around those core principals that made this country great. We must not fear to give voice to these problems, for ignoring them will not solve them.
