ever since i was a young boy i remember watching soccer on television, thinking to myself that i too could be a great soccer legend and represent my country in the world cup. I decided that that would be my career. I gained tremendous support from every single family member i could think of, and they never doubted me for a second. I always put in extra effort, went to practices, watched every game on television and never gave up. I have never been more determined about anything in my life. My parents decided to send me to a school of excellence where i could receive an education but at the same time concentrate on my dream of becoming a soccer player.
I was pushed and pushed till i reached a point in my life where i said i dont want to do all the work. I eventually decided and came to the agreement that i should not give up that easily. I felt like my arms were getting heavy because family and friends kept throwing me into the deep end of the pool. I finally got chosen for trials and eventually went on to the National games.
For a while it felt like my hard work was really paying off until i got denied. I was ready to throw in the towel as nothing hurt this bad. I realised that this was just an obstacle in my life and i would have to work harder to achieve my goals. I kept pushing, harder and harder. I realised that i was the only one who would be able to account for my success as time passed. I got chosen to represent South Africa in a charity tournament in Australia.
My dreams finally came true as i never gave up. Anyone can achieve their goals if they work at it. I definately did.
