William Shakespeare wrote many plays that contain signs of superstition. Some of his best work was displayed in the popular play "Julius Caesar". In the US today statistics show that several people don't tend to look for superstition or anything out of the ordinary in that matter in plays unless they are actually trying to locate it for a term paper. Many people might accidentally read right over intimations without knowing that they did at all.

Taking that into consideration, this essay is met to educate those that couldn't find the clues in the first 5 of 6 attempts. This essay will to try to point out and explain the many supernatural and paranormal events which were considered onino us during his time. In the play, there were countless times that superstition was shown through signs. When people say signs, they mean the events or occurrences that people see that they try to link that to the work of the devil. For example, "Cassius uses the unusual weather to reason that it is only for evil men (such as Caesar) who had to be arcade". (Internet 6) This shows that the sign is the unusual weather that blew in that day.

This is because that Cassius believes that the weather was caused by Caesar. Which he also believes that the work that Caesar does, well everything that he does is evil in some way. This sign was not very obvious but it was present. That is for those that set and said that they couldn't find any events.

As a result, the sign was shown through the unusual weather pattern that day. There were more signs that were shown in the play that were supernatural. For example, "This morning are they fled away and sore and in their steads do ravens, crows, and kites". (McMurtry 73) This shows that the sighting of those choice birds was the supernatural sign. Most think that these birds bring misfortune, doom, or bad luck to those in the area that they are in. This is because that crows normally fly around things that are near death.

Some say that if a crow is the first bird that a person sees or hears out their window, they should turn over and go back to sleep cause something bad is going to happen to them on that day. That is why they were flying around Caesar that morning cause something bad was going to him. As a result, this sign was the birds that circumnavigated Caesar that day. There is another sign that showed supernatural involvement within the play. For example", This belief in the supernatural and the forces of nature are very prevalent in the play and Caesar comment is but one example". (Internet 1) This shows that what the characters did and said sometimes were due to a supernatural belief.

This is because most people would often not split a pole cause they think that it brings bad luck. As a result, characters used their supernatural beliefs in the play. In the play, their were ominous times that ghost were used to represent supernatural events. For example, "Brutus says that Caesar's spirit "walk abroad" and I take that to mean that Caesar is making sure his killer will die". (Internet 2) This shows that the supernatural event was the spirit that was stocking Brutus, was Caesar which he wanted to send his killer to death. This is because Brutus killed Caesar cause he didn't like the way he did things.

As a result, the supernatural event was the ghost that Brutus spoke about. There were many other paranormal events that occurred in Julius Caesar. For example", the ghost of Caesar hath appeared to me two several times by night, at sardis once and this night here in philippi fields. I know my hour has come". (Spavack 26) This shows that Brutus is being harassed by the ghost of Caesar, the man who killed him.

The ghost is a good example of paranormal activities. This is because the ghost wanted to show that even in death he could and would not rest in peace unless he took his killer with him to the under world. As a result, The ghost in this one is a good example of events. There are yet more ghost that were seen in the play. For example, "O Julius Caesar, show art mighty yet, thy spirit wakes aboard and turns our swords in our own power entrails".

(Spevack 26) This shows that the spirit that she refers to is Caesar and that he made everybody turn heads or coward out on the battle field. This is because that when he appeared to confront Brutus, Brutus stop what he was doing cause he was in such shock that the spirit was standing right in front of him. As a result, the spirit was another example of supernatural events. There were times that supernatural events occurred through strange occurrences the happen with in the play. For example, .".. All the windows and doors of his chamber flying open.

The noise awoke him and made him abrade when he saw such light". (Spavack 158) This shows that the windows and doors flying open were paranormal activities that occurred in his chambers. This is because he didn't take the advice of a friend very seriously. As a result, The windows were a good example of paranormal events.

There were more times that strange occurrences happened. For example, "That evening, there are strange and unusual natural occurrences in the weather is very strange and violent and fire fells from the sky. Most of the people think that the weather is a bad omen". (Internet 1) This shows that the fire falling from the sky is really unusual.

That is why it is a supernatural event. This is because it happen due to the decisions that Caesar made that day. As a result, this is a good example of supernatural events. This is one that is truly weird. The event is very supernatural. For example", Calphorinia, Caesars wife tells Caesar of the horrible dream she has about his death and that the strange occurrence the night before a prelude of his death".

(Internet 1) This shows that the events was his wife and her strange dream of his death. This is because she received a vision that came true the very next day. As a result, the strange occurrences that occurred in the play was the dream that his wife had. There were parts of the play that predictions were necessary to find the supernatural events. For example", furthermore, there was a certain sooth sayer that had given Caesar warnings many times to take heed". (Spevack 158) This shows that the sooth sayer told him of the supernatural events that were going to occur but Caesar didn't take this advice.

This is because at the time he didn't believe that supernatural events exist. As a result, The predictions were a key role in piecing the play together. There were more predictions that were in the play. For example", But mean time came bec ius Brutus, surnamed Albinus on whom Caesar put such confidence that in his last win and fest ament he had appointed him to be his next heir and yet was of the conspiracy with Cassius and Brutus".

(Spevack 158) This shows that in the play, they know that Brutus was planning on killing Caesar because of his beliefs. This is because that Shakespeare wanted his readers to know what was going on before it actually happen. As a result, this was a really good example of prediction. In conclusion, Shakespeare wrote this play with superstition and paranormal events so that he could reach his fans at a different level. To show them that he was capable of writing almost anything. This essay only explains a few of the many links to the supernatural events of this play.
