The expression of Art during the Italian renaissance had an extremely influential affect over Italian culture and lead to a dramatic economic change. During the Italian renaissance art separated from religion and its themes to become more of an essential part of society. Separating art from religion allowed artists to express themselves in a unique fashion that has never been used or seen before and thus leading to the economy being greatly influenced. Many things changed drastically during the time of the renaissance, including; painters direct association with families, the free realistic statue, and the discovery of such great technological advances. Separating religion from the artistic world, artists could now diversify the style in which they expressed their artistic ability and passion. With this up-roar and success of "liberated" artists the royal families encouraged people to continue with their expression of art and even allowed people to work within the city.

Art had now become almost a currency or means of trade, allowing for greater economical advantages. The amount of job opportunities skyrocketed and the decoration of the royal families was quite popular amongst many artists including the ever famous Leonardo da Vinci. Da Vinci was granted with the opportunity of expressing the Medici family (a high power of Italian society) with new forms of art. Because of Leonardo da Vinci's brilliance and ability to portray the high power of Italian society it gave way to the French wishing upon his skills to expose the culture by artistically expressing Francis I. By expressing himself freely da Vinci was able to expose both French and Italian cultures to brilliant works of art.

The free standing statue was another influential part in the separation between art and religion. The previous statues were carved into to soft rock of buildings and columns. "Liberation" of art allowed sculpting and new technological advances to occur. The free sanding statue was enormously popular amongst the royal families and again it opened the doors to an increase in wealth, in the sense that the higher powers or people of great wealth could now employ artists to perform these new technologically advanced means of artistic expression. With the separation of art and the history of the bible, the desire and ability to examine and explore art creatively was far easier.

Leonardo da Vinci did so with his technological advances with human corpses. To gain a greater knowledge of how to express humans artistically da Vinci dissected corpses. It gave him an in-depth look at what makes a human being. Dissection of a human corpse could almost be considered scientific but it was strictly for artistic expression and knowledge, this shows how art influenced art on a more intense level. People would argue that the most influential result of the renaissance was the detachment of art. Many of the most famous artists in history created works of art during the renaissance.

Michaelangelo, Donatello and Leonardo da Vinci are just a few on the large list of names who gained popularity during the renaissance. Freely expressing themselves resulted in great wealth and advancement in architecture and subsequently lead to art as a separate category from religion.
