It requires me to substantiate my arguments both in favour of and in opposition to such intervention through detailed examples. The foundation of the essay rests on the premise that global stability lies on the principle of non-interference in the goings on of other self-governing nations. Possible examples that can be used to determine the dual consequences of the interference of nations into matters that affect another particular state are the crises of Burundi, Columbia, Israel and possibly Zimbabwe. My essay would begin by defining the crucial content words as outlined above. I would then seek to explain what situations do in fact call for international intervention - that is situations in which the rule of law has eroded to such a point that anarchy reigns supreme or such instances where the potential for such an occurrence exists.

I would structure the body of my essay on a nation-by-nation basis and draw separate conclusions for each unique circumstance. In my final paragraphs, I would then draw broad conclusions that are widely applicable to these circumstances.
