Prediction: I predict that the less amount of oxygen that the flame has the less time it would stay a lit for. The flame gives out heat. Light the Bunsen burner using gas taps and matches 2. Cover the bottom area of the beaker with Pleistocene to make sure no air can get in. 3.

Using a splint light the candle with the flame from the Bunsen burner. 4. Put the candle under the beaker 5. Time how long it takes to burn out using a stopwatch 6.

Remove the candle once burned out and wave the beaker to remove any air substances from it. 7. Repeat with different size beakers. We carried out the test and we discovered that the size of the beaker does actually effect how long the candle burns for.
