WHAT IS THERE TO SUGGEST THAT VICTOR FRANKINSTEIN IS SELFISH AND HIS WORK IS EVIL Mary Shelley wrote the novel called Frankinstein and the novel was published in 1818. Mary Shelley was only 21 years of age when she wrote the novel, in my essay I will be describing the character of Victor Frankinstein and deciding if he is a selfish and evil person. The novel is still popular today because people are still entertained about horror, the unknown and mystery. In the 1800 it was unusual for women to publish a novel. Mary Shelley's grammar is perfect in frankinstein because she varies the sentence structure and vocabulary so the tension changes for the reader's interest.

The novel begins with Walton explaining to his sister about how he has meets a desperate man called Frankinstein. Frankinstein and Walton are similar because they both want to get knowledge so they go and learn. It is said "I am going to unexplored regions" Frankinstein feels devastated and angry about what he has done he thinks that Walton is making a mistake, the same mistake he has done. Frankinstein meets a young girl called Elizabeth from a poor family and promised to always protect her but he left Elizabeth in Geneva and went to a University in England. Then he started creating a human being. In the novel it says "Elizabeth Lavenza became the inmate of my partners house-my more than sister-the beautiful and adored companion of all my occupations and my pleasures" Shortly after beginning University Frankinstein began to create the creation.

Frankinstein is selfish to encourage Elizabeth to love him because he never spends time with her and he left her to go to University. The creation threatened Frankinstein that if he did not make him a female creation he would kill Elizabeth. We know this because it says "I shall be with you on your wedding night". Frankinstein still married Elizabeth because he loved her and did not want anyone else to have her. He should have left her alone if he did not have any time for her.
