God And The Creation Myth example essay topic
(Webster's Dictionary 770). A scientific investigation uses the scientific method to research the origin of the universe. So basically, the two answers are different but the question is which one is correct? God and the creation myth are based upon the Book of Genesis. The Book of Genesis describes the creation of life in six days.
God created the heaven and earth. It was covered with water and darkness. His spirit then hovered over the darkness and water and created light. He then separated light form darkness.
God then said", Let the water be gathered in one place and let the dry land appear". God called this dry land, Earth. He called the gathered waters, seas. On the third day, God said", Let the Earth produce grass, herbs, and fruit trees, all yielding after there own kind". God also created the sun and the moon. Each of them where assigned to be signs for night and day, for the seasons, and for years.
Succeeding the fourth day, God created the creatures of the sea and birds to fly over the earth. God created everything moving in the water and all the winged animals. God then blessed them by saying", be abundant and multiply". Then God said", Let the earth be filled with living creatures". God made animals on the earth, basically everything that crawls upon the earth. Last he decided to make man in His own image after our likeness.
God formed man out of the dust of the ground. Man was to rule over the fish of the seas, the birds of the air, and the animals of the earth. The next day was the sixth day, God rested (Book of Genesis- The Bible). This is the general story of how life began when using the creation myth. Given before, this story has been passed down for hundreds of years and has also been studied for hundreds of years. The outcome of this myth is of an all-powerful God whom all life depends on.
The Big Bang theory is based upon the entire universe being confined into an atomic nucleus. This nucleus exploded about 15 billion years ago. At this instant, the universe began. This is when all space and time came into existence and matter in the cosmos began to expand. Moments after the explosion the four forces of nature: strong nuclear, weak nuclear, electromagnetic and gravity were combined as a single "super force". Particles known as quarks began to bond forming trios, which then formed photons, positrons, and neutrinos.
Photons started to collide and convert their energy into mass. Soon after the temperature fell around one billion degrees K and the protons and neutrons combined and formed helium. The universe for the next 300,000 years was expanding and cooling to a temperature of 10,000 K. (jh) As the universe continued to cool stars and galaxies formed then life. The first forms have life have evolved over millions of years, in many scientists' eyes. Many of these scientists believe that man has evolved, over the years, from apes.
