It is not that humans are all good or all evil but that their natural instincts drive them to do evil or good deeds on a basis of what family and society have led them to believe.
A person can not be defined as a truly evil or a truly good person because the state of good and evil is undefined. Humans are born with an instinct that drives them to do what is necessary to live in extreme situations. This instinct takes over any other thought and becomes a persons need to survive in any given situation. In Lord of the Flies, it wasn't whether or not the boys were good or evil; it was their natural reaction, using instincts in the case of their survival.
