Being Evil Is A Part Of Human Nature No matter how hard we try, we " re all twisted. There's no way you can avoid being evil and the book has proved it. No matter how young and how innocent kids are, they can't help but be sinners. 'This is our island. It is a good island until the grownups come to fetch us. We " ll have fun".

They lacked restrictions. This affected the way the boys acted on a day-to-day basis. Without restrictions and consequences, the boys ruled themselves. They answered to no one, except others that they were loyal to or feared. They roamed around the island and did as they pleased, knowing they may face consequences. Knowing there was no adults or supervision, the kids established a democracy.

For an example, Ralph was a leader and he also had a good heart throughout the book. He took action as soon as he set foot on the island. Instead of appointing himself to be the leader without the consent of the other kids, he decided to take a vote to choose who would be leader. He believed in democracy instead of dictatorship. In my opinion, I think that we " re all inherently good but we " re tainted with the original sin.

It's just that we are yet to wait for that sin to be taken out. After all, Adam and Eve weren't supposed to sin. So I'm assuming that they didn't eat from the forbidden tree. Well, something like that.

I pretty much have some faith in the human race, well, just a little.
