When school lets out, I was so exuberant that I raced home, so I could eat a quick snack and meet my friends to plan what we are going to do on Halloween night. As I ran toward my front door, I could see the inside door was closed. It was peculiar, because my mom has always left the door open. If she had to go somewhere, she would have waited until I got home from school. I knew it must have been an emergency.
