What I want to be is an educator because it is one of the most important professions in the world. I would like to teach Technology education this would include computers, Hardware and software, and how to use them, how to write programs on them. This would also include keyboard skills and many other things. Computers are here to stay and technology is the future of our children. Teaching children can also be rewarding and a pleasure.

The Age levels I would like to teach are high school and college students. This is because they are not too young and still want to learn. I feel that it is important to work with young people because they are our future. One Reason why this is important is that our children are our future, and they need to be prepared for the future or they will not be successful in the working world. Teaching makes a difference in them, because it gives them tools to help them be successful in the future. As the century changed and the 2000's began so has the method of communication and business.

As Bill Gates says "Im very optimistic about what we " ll see not just in the next decade that I call the digital decade but over the next year or two in terms of the advances that take place when great software and hardware come together". I want to be a part of this process and what better way that of a teacher. To inform, to edify, to instill, to guide, to enlighten, to enrich, to inspire. All of these words are examples of what teachers do. However, the job of a teacher means different things to different people.

For some, a teacher is simply a person who informs students about 'necessary information' like math formulas, historical facts, or literary works. Yet for others, and for myself, teachers are much more. They give their students not only their knowledge, but also their passion. They get involved in the lives of their students.

They make their students feel good about themselves and, most importantly, make a lasting impact. I know this because teachers have done these things for me, and that is why I would like to become one. My current and former teachers have instilled their passion in me. The age-old conflict of 'reason versus passion' is disprove n every day when good teachers reinforce their knowledge to students with enthusiasm and passion. This has always been an important idea to me.

In high school a computer science teacher, made a great impact on me. He had taught the same topics for over twenty years, but one could never tell because his energy and excitement for the subject never ended. He was not only brilliant, but also exciting to watch and listen to. Passion seemed to emanate from him.

This in turn gave me a stronger love for computer science, and for the forty minutes each day that I was in his class, computer science was truly alive for me. The passion that he and my other teachers have instilled in me is something I would bring to my own future students. Teaching is the career for me also because of the opportunity it provides to interact with such fascinating students. It amazes me how many teachers want to get involved in the lives of their students even outside the classroom If I could make students feel so good about themselves that they are inspired to work harder and perhaps even choose a career in that field, then I would deem myself a successful person. Over the years, we meet people who enrich our lives and motivate us to do great things. In the past eighteen years of my life, I have met a great number of these people.

Besides learning the basics of life and getting a good education, from them I have also learned to live my life to the fullest and never doubt what my heart tells me. Their gifts have inspired me to give back what I have gained from them. These people have been educators, and because of them, I would like to continue my career as a teacher.
