There are a few things that our school district could use. One of them is a High School Billiards League. This is due to the people willing to join, possible locations to hold it, and the benefits that the school would get. A High School Billiards League is something that would the whole school in general. People are one example. There are many people from our school own school that would be interested in joining if it is formed.

I know of at least 20 people that would sign up immediately. A few months ago I met a few students from another school online in a chat room. They wanted to have a school competition, our best pool sharks, versus their own team. This is currently planned to happen in the next two months, with or without the school's involvement. The sport of Professional Billiards League is growing to become popular. The major tournaments are now being covered by ESPN and ESPN 2.

There are also many locations for the tournaments to be held. One, we could have them in our large gym, or at any other school with a decent sized gym. Bell Wick Bowl may also have an interest in having the games played there, because they used to have pool tables in the back room. Also any non-bar associated pool hall could hold it, owner permitting. Any place with enough room for the table plus 8 ft around the table, and room for seating, would be big enough to hold the tournaments. There are many benefits for having a Billiards League.

I has a relatively low cost upkeep, because pool balls, cue balls, and cue sticks last most people an entire lifetime. The table itself also needs very little in the way of upkeep, just refurbished every 5-10 years. They mainly just have to keep a supply of cue chalk to prevent running out during a game. It would also get more of a variety of people involved in playing a sport, other people besides the "athletic" may try out to play. It would also bring in more money for the school through having the equipment paid for by sponsors such as Harvard, maker of high quality pool balls and cues. It can also bring in more money through ticket sales.

There are many benefits to making a High School Billiards League. You have people involved, a variety of locations, and many different benefits.
