Darin Radatz English A.P. 3rd hour 9-16-03 The Personal Essay Throughout my seventeen years of life there has been one main person who has been influential to me, that individual is my mother who brought me into this world, Sharon Lynn Radatz. My mother taught me the life lessons from respecting my elders to saving myself sexually for marriage. As I have grown older physically, I also have in maturity. When I was in my young teenage years I thought that her lectures and life experience stories were just for nagging and aggravation, but just recently in the last couple of years I realized that she was just trying to help me from life's miseries and the mistakes she made as a young adult growing up.

In other words she just wants me to live up to the high expectations she has for me. To this day I can remember one of the first lessons my mother taught me which was to respect your elders. This advice has especially suited me so far in my time here on Earth because it couple of good things. First it gives shows adults that I have good manners which for the most part was the basis on why I got my job at the local Fort Gratiot Meijer and kept it for over a year. Second it relates to many other aspects of life like a high-quality upbringing and a first-class education from the local public schools.

Most recently though the element that I have been taking note of is the sex issue my mom has been preaching to me. High school in a young adults life, especially in the males case, is extremely arduous to stay sexual inactive. Not only are your physical body and its sex drive in the brain stirring you on but also are the appealing girls in your classes. Seriously without little subconscious thoughts that my mom put into my mind I would have probably had a kid or a pregnant girl carrying for child like other students portray at Port Huron High School. But with information on diseases and the reality of how uncomplicated it is for contraception methods to not work she gave me the self-discipline to control myself. Over the years, lessons and life experiences are not the only things she has done for me, because she has done a great deal more.

My mom has given me a place to live, eat, and do I feel, for literally nothing, the last eighteen years. She has been there in my financial life and does not expect any money in return. Whenever there is something on my chest and I need an important person to express my emotional feelings to my mom has been there. Without moms in the world there would not be any children and the human race would eventually become extinct. Without my mom in this world my life would be intricate to live because of all the problems.

With my mom though I have a great life and will hopefully continue to after I move out using the things she thought me. For that I am forever grateful..
