300 words
Today!'s world is filled in with all kinds of information. It!'s fair to say getting first-hand information means being successful. Unquestionably, media plays an extremely important role in receiving, analyzing and distributing information. So what are media? As far as most of people concern, media are merely things like news, broadcast, newspapers and magazines. What they don! t know is the concept of media is far beyond that.

According to the Webster Advanced Dictionary, Media means any methods of communication by which we spread information. So media is not only watching TV, listening Radio, reading newspaper, it surrounds us all the time. We exchange information during daily conversation; students receive information from the teachers in the class. Even when we play very physical games like basketball and hockey, we still deal with verbal information from one player to the other. So actively or passively, we expose or get exposed to the media, almost 24 hours a day; even dream is the informative reflection of reality.

So in today!'s society, media is all over the place. Every single individual does not just consume the media; he is also a media. It!'s unconceivable how the world is like without the media. Everyplace is deadly mute; there! re nothing to read, to listen, to play. Everybody!'s life is only composed of 3 terribly monotonous parts: work, eat and sleep. Rich and poor are indifferent, since there! re nowhere to consume the extra earning.

Furthermore, thousands of people will lose their jobs due to the halt of all the media and entertainment facilities. In short, with no hyperbole, every individual will hardly survive and the world will reach its end, if the media consumption is absent.
