Human Beings Lives example essay topic

Frankenstein is considered to be of the first scientific fiction books. One aspect science fiction does is explain ethical situations that might arise from technical advancements. Do you feel that people have the right to play 'God' by doing such things as reanimation, genetic experimentation: cloning, cryogenics, and invitrofertilization? What is the goal of technology and what should be our limitations to these technological tools? Do you believe there are consequences to these advancements?

Explain... No one person has the right to 'Play 'God' over any other. To play 'God' is to decide upon human beings' lives. Whether or not they can live or die; whether or not they can have children; whether or not a human being is fit to live in society.

To play 'God' is to take away someone's choice in his or her own life. Women who are deciding on having an abortion play 'God' with the lives of their babies yet to be. The goals of the technology in practice, or being tested to go into practice, is to better our society's standard of life. The technology is supposed to be helping us live longer, fuller lives; however it is mostly in place for scientists to study human beings and try to get a name for themselves in the published world. Much limitation should be applied to the use of this technology in today's society. Consequences are apart of everything we do in life, and so consequences come along when tampering with any human body, and genetics.

Such as multiple births to women on fertility drugs, custody battles over sperm, and accidents that can happen with any human action, because in fact we are all just human. Other consequences can be along the lines of higher costs in medical bills. Finally, people would become de-sensitized to the miracle of birth, and the individuality of being randomly created by two people..
