Nowadays there is this whole new way of thinking in terms of medicine. People have been trying herbal medicines, hypnosis and exotic excercise and simply a whole new way of thinking. But there is still a large portion of people who do not believe that any of this really works, simply because it cannot be explained. There is some proof that hypnosis does work to prevent, cure and help with physical problems, such as scars, cancer, breast surgery, and illnesses.

There is no explanation as to how how hypnosis really works but there isd proof with the side effects after using it on a certain area of the body. And even though individuals refer to this as a "new" practice, human civilizations have used these methods longer than history can record accurately. Ancient Egyptians had no anesthesia to numb patients, but they would still do amputations and surgeries using the hypnotism technique to control the pain they were receiving. According to Mike Lawson various cultures besides Egyptians have used rituals or techniques that can best be described as hypnotism.

And that even references of it have been found in the Old Testament and in the Talmud, sacred writings of Judaism. The first actual record of hypnotism came till later in 1770, Mesmer, a scientist started using hypnotism to cure many illnesses and succeed. He would put his patients in tubs with magnets and would make them think of this illness dissapearing. He would later say that humans had "magnetic fluids" and that that was what was helping the magnets cure the person.

But in 1784 the French commission studied his studies and experiments and could not find that they really worked, and that the cures were part of the patient's imaginations. Many people still tried these techniques after Mesmer and found that tubs and magnets were unnecessary.
