One night i stayed with my best friend and her mom. Well i was awakened by horrifying screams, it sounded like someone was being stabbed over and over again. My friend's mom was also awakened by these screams. When we got up to see what was happening we discovered that their neighbor was being chased by her boyfriend with a hammer. We called the police and they arrived shortly. He had been hitting her with the hammer and he was taking some kind of drug.
She had to be hospitalized and he was arrested. That was the scariest night of my life, but im happy that i saved the womans life by calling the police. Everytime i stay at my friends house i think about that woman. Years have passed and i still wonder if shes doing okay and if she stayed with that horrible man. Little did i know she was still with him and they lived just three houses away. Night after night we would sometimes hear him beating her and of course we would call the police.
The nieghbor just let him back in time after time like she was scared to leave him. One day we were taking a walk and we saw her outside watering her flowers, she had a huge black eye and she tried not to look our way. We said hello, but she didn't respond. Two nights after that we heard a gun shot, the nieghbor killed her boyfriend. She had waited for him to come home one night drunk trying to beat her.
This time he got one hit in and she shot him. Now shes doing time in jail. It was self-defense, but her boyfriend's father was the sheriff, so he had connections..
