DNA or Deoxyribonucleic acid been used for many of years to identify people, solve a great number of crimes, and used to help many forensic scientist. It has cost millions of dollars to get the system right but still needs time to increase the analysis process. George Bush and his administration want to use $1 billion over the next five years to increase the DNA analysis, but is facing large backlogs. Bush's goal is to eliminate all state and federal DNA analysis backlog within the five years and start using new programs which will help identify criminals faster and more efficiently. He also wants to use all the information that is gathered and put it into the FBI's database for their use. I agree with the article and feel that the spending of the money would be a wise choice in this situation, knowing that all criminals that have been recorded can be accessed faster and thru the FBI, in case of any crimes that may be committed against the government by a convicted felon.

I feel that the writer of this article did a good job in explaining the topic and telling the situation. He gave specific details into the process and quotes parts of the speech that was given by Ashcroft. He brought up estimates of the proposal and gives some of his own opinion. In closing I hope and feel that this vision for a better security system goes through making our country even that much more safer from invaders, criminals, and every day thieves.
